A Platform On Stilts

The plan

April 1970

November 2001

April 2002 after the stone wall was built

2012: Measuring for potential

A 4x6 gets the height of the platform

4x4s carry the platform until the posts are in

The outside Frame is assembled

The southwest corner is cut to overlap a boulder

The southeast corner

Assembled! BUT forgot to make sure it is square

Temporary 2x4 legs carry one corner

Determining where this post will meet its pier

Digging-chiseling the first post hole

3 of the 6 post piers were misaligned

So these concrete piers are off center

The rope in this pic has pulled the frame square

... which pulled this corner way off center

The pipe should have penetrated the post center

The Prius was able to drag this boulder with ease

Bracing the posts

The plywood was coated twice with
Bear Cedar Waterproofing

The frame was coated twice with
Bear Natural Waterproofing, an orange stain
