Posts 14 & 15

No holes, no concrete, no anchors, no aluminum footings; just a semi-hard rubber bottle stopper with a screw through the middle.

Here is #14 upside down with #15 already installed. It is not centered; rather, it was positioned according to where it would contact the ground.

These posts are not for support as much as they are there to keep that part of the deck steady as they carry incidental weight passing overhead.

The idea is to minimize the impact of these posts on the bedrock that they come in contact with.

The bedrock is just soft enough that aluminum footings would have gradually chewed away at it; hopefully, these guys won't. Time will tell.
