Post #16's job is to carry the center weight of a long 2x6 joist. |
No holes, concrete, anchors or aluminum footings; just round black rubber bottle stoppers that will do minimal damage to the bedrock. Get an up-close look at these footings on posts 14 & 15 .

Post #17's job is to help carry the weight of a point in the deck that seemed as though it might need a bit more support. |
