This $12 Power Care Garden Hose Inlet Filter is probably one of the greatest finds I have made at Home Depot. It makes sure that the incoming water is absolutely clear of visible sediment.
Be sure to place a drip pan or rubber basin under it.
The first one I brought home leaked like a sieve. I took it back and exchanged it for another, the one you see here. Glad I didn't buy it on Amazon.
It has worked flawlessly ever since. However, as a dog water dish, I just keep it under there anyhow.
