Moving The Water Tank, Part 1

Our neighbor, Tom, said to help ourselves to water, so that's what we do.

Currently about 40 gallons, which last us about 10 days. We are not comfortable with this.

Initially the jugs were stored here for the shade.
The area to the lower left is about to be cut into.

The tank, as it was situated in January when I took this shot on our one day visit.

Roughly the same area, but the opposite direction, shot after our November arrival.

By mid December, the tank had been moved;
the tent and box trailer also.

The right end was on blocks. Removing them didn't help; still couldn't budge the thing.

Finally got it to go by inching the tank forward with pry bars, until it fell by its own weight.

Cleaned, cleared and leveled (+/-) the site in preparation for the tent & trailer.

Moved the tank along by winching it towards the van's hitch, inch by inch.

The tank and its stand have reached their half-way point.

The tent is half-way to its new site. This one I dragged and pushed by hand.

The tent and trailer are now situated into their new site.

This is an alternate view. The full screen view is interesting – see hints of how we live.

The stand has been moved up the hill adjacent to its new location on the right.

Proceed to cutting the slot and lifting the tank...
