Cut hole #18 out of loose bedrock & placed cardboard on the exposed side. The barbed PVC anchor is ready to go.

With everything very wet, filled the hole with concrete and plugged the anchor into its pre-determined position in line with posts 5 & 4.

A 5” deep hole bored into the bottom of the post fits over the PVC anchor.

With its aluminum footing attached, it is doing its job. The width of this end of the deck was determined by the position of this post, which was determined by what the bedrock would quietly give me.

Here it is in all its splendor, just doin' its job.
